About the Office

The Office of Student Activities works to fulfill its commitment to student learning, personal development, and the enhancement of campus life by expanding the student educational and social experience through diverse and challenging opportunities that promote and facilitate participation in the intellectual, cultural, and social aspects of Washington College. Student Activities through its programs and activities helps to shape the out of class experience into a living-learning laboratory that provides students an opportunity to develop personal, professional, and leadership skills.

The Office of Student Activities, located in the Hodson Hall Student Center, serves as a resource for students, campus clubs & organizations, and faculty & staff during the programming process; is responsible for the development and implementation of the campus student leadership program; oversees and manages the operation of the Student Center; and advises and funds Student Events Board, the primary campus programming organization.

Emmanuel Lalande, Director of Student Activities, works with the 100 plus student-run clubs and organizations on campus by assisting them in their efforts to plan and implement events and activities for Washington College. Besides the Director, the Office of Student Activities staff is composed of four highly competitive student internships through the Office of Student Activities Internship Program. These internships include the Leadership Intern, Communications Intern, Student Center Intern, and the Program Production Intern. All of the interns are available as a resource for individual students, student leaders, clubs and organizations, and faculty and staff on campus.
